I just had a strange experience with this...

I added the title to my wishlist a few weeks ago, then added it from there into my cart when I saw this thread yesterday. Today I finally decided to buy this and The Mummy, but it wouldn't let me check out... both showed as shipping in 1 to 2 days, but I kept getting a message about a pricing update and couldn't checkout unless I removed DVE from my cart... so I removed it, went back to the listing where I saw it as $14.99 still, with 1 to 2 weeks as the shipping window. I added it to the cart, where its shipping info showed up as "Unavailable," but then I continued on and the order went through fine...

Anyway, I'm looking at the site right now and it is still listed as $14.99 with 1 to 2 weeks as the shipping date, so anyone willing to take a chance (and not in too much of a rush to get this), the door seems open. :)

I have Video Essentials and Digital Video Essentials both on SD DVD. I'm quick enough that I can get to the video section and do a calibration in about 15-20 minutes. Audio is roughly the same. They are pretty user friendly with lots of fluff and filler that I skip over. At the end their are lots of extra test patterns that I don't know how to use!!! Overall, they aren't bad. I have used AVIA, but it was so long ago. I remember liking it for video or audio, I don't remember which one, but the other I hated.

Oh, and I jumped on this deal too. I ordered my copy today along with a separate order for the Italian Job. My HD DVE was $6.89 as well! Great deal!

The $1 is just a pre-authorization. It will drop off in 2 days. Mine did, and then they'll bill you for the correct amount. :)

thanks, i hope this works out. i also recommend picking up the nine inch nails disc with this deal for less than $9 shipped. the hd-dvd version is currently out of stock, but they do have the blu-ray version at the moment.

I thought this was a really good deal at the time with using the Google check out and $10 off, but this is ridiculous. I ordered DVE over 2 weeks ago and still haven't received it yet. That's from California (their address says Cali) to Arizona, which is a 10 hour drive for me from where I live to LA. I'm glad I used the coupon because I'll never order from Buy.com again. Even Amazon gives you a tracking number or some way of knowing what's going on with your order and I get my order fast. I want to calibrate my HDTV. Anybody else having problems getting their order in a timely fashion?

Same here. At the start of the week still said "On Order". I was tired of waiting and I've even tried to cancel it but status still says "Cancellation Requested" after 4 days.

I used the faster shipping though, so I paid more to get the 3 to 5 days shipping instead of the 5 to 9 days shipping. I think mine came to $8.39 total. When I emailed them they said they are allowed up to 9 business days to deliver. I didn't pay for that, so they made an error on my shipping time and not the amount they charged for shipping. It's not that big of a deal, but I think 2 weeks to get something to a neighboring state is a little strange to me. Good luck to everyone. Hope we all get our discs soon.

It's weird how they do this. I ordered mine on the 3rd, it shipped ground service on the 4th and I received it on the 8th. Now, if I can just get it to play on the add-on...patience, schmatience..

Still nothing here (4/26 order), and no customer service replies. I don't mind waiting to get a discount, but when I see people having ordered substantially later than I did getting theirs shipped, there's something very wrong. It's further fishy because while my order still says "on order" (changed from sent to warehouse), their main product page still says ships in 1-2 days.

I placed an order and it got from CA to NY in 2 days.

I waited about 2 weeks for buy.com to finally ship it out, and now that its here the hd-dvd side freezes up in the menu. I heard this happened with the xbox 360 add-on, but im using my hp hd-dvd laptop and its not working either, the regular side works fine. WTF is the deal with this dvd, why does it have so many playback problems, does it use a different interface.

Because where else are you going to get this so cheap. They better not try that crap with me. Mine already said it shipped on 5/4, so they probably screwed up my address. It was probably a mistake on their part to price it so low and they don't want to lose too much money in the process, so only a select few are getting them. I just don't understand why somebody ordered it last week and already got theirs and I ordered mine on 4/27 on still have nothing.

Like the WHV issue, I think the frustration is hearing from people who claim to have ordered weeks later getting their copies, while the early customers get put on hold or even canceled. Plus, there was no notification of any delay, so Buy.com simply dropped the ball, but then they're not Amazon.

In the end, it seems like DVE is a hassle from start to finish (production, manufacturing, shipping, playback). What else do you do though except make your own test screens?

Ordered it on April 25th, finally received it yesterday. Funny how it took them 2 weeks to ship the disc 100 miles(Fremont to Sacramento). Shipped on the 2nd. :rolleyes:

Hate to hear of members having problems with shipping on this disc. I was surprised when I placed my order yesterday and it shipped within 24 hours of ordering. I did used the google checkout, but did not use the $10 off coupon. I also used the budget shipping. Provided the additional info, just to provide a point of reference.

Quick run through this disc, I did not have any problems with my A2.

I ordered mid last month, got an email early this week saying they where in backorded :eek: I already have one but took advantage of some sale they had with google for 8.00 buck.

For those who are about to order here's a word about shipping options. We ordered two of these at two separate times. The first one was with the cheapest shipping option, and the second one was with the more expensive shipping option. The one that costs more actually took longer to arrive :eek:

Both units were shipped the day after we ordered them. Both units were sent via the exact same first class mail.

Do yourself a favor, and save your money and use the cheapest shipping option.

I just got the same message as poster on #79 did. It actually annoys me as they have the DVE in stock (it says ships 1-2 days) but they rather give my money back than ship me the disc giving some lame excuse about it not being availabe anymore.
