I'm currently shopping for a flatscreen tv (lcd or plasma) and I curious about which one has a "tougher" screen. I have a 3 1/2 year old son who ocasionally will touch my tv screen (crt) or bang it with a toy. Is one more durable than the other?

I would look into wall mounting. Problem solved.

mounting on the wall is not an option. should've mentioned that in my original post.

Both plasma and LCD can have a glass front which should be pretty resistant to plastic toys and such. You'll have more selection available with the plasmas though, requiring a glass front on an LCD will drastically limit your choices. Of course, CRT screens are nearly indestructible so they are really the most toddler resistant.

And don't worry too much about your TV... in 13 years or so he'll be wrecking your car :)
