First off I have a KDS-60a2000, a PS3, and a Sony upconverting DVD player. This wouldn't be a problem as it has 2 HDMI inputs, but I am getting an XBOX 360 Elite. I bought an HDMI switch and plugged the HDMI DVD player up to it, and when I watch it on the TV it has downconverted it back to 480p. So I plugged in the PS3 and it says it is showing at 1080p like normal. What would cause the DVD player to go back to 480p instead of 1080i? Also how do I know that the PS3 is outputting the full 1080p that it would if it wasn't running through the switch without plugging and unplugging and tryin to see which one looks better? Any thoughts comments or questions would be greatly appreciated.

HDMI Rez is auto selecting to native UNLESS you manually select the output rez on the DVD player.
However I doudt that there is any advantage to upconverting other than the ability to say "Hey its 1080i".
