I recently purchased the Sony vl600 to clean up my remote controls. I like the functions and the ability to control everything on 1 remote.

My question to anyone who has this remote. In order for me to watch a dvd movie, I have to switch the source on my TV from TV past VCR to DVD.

I am trying to setup a source button to
turn on the TV,
turn on the DVD player,
turn on my surround sound stereo,
switch sound on receiver to DVD
and switch inputs on TV to DVD.

Then I would only have to push play when I sit down and I am ready to watch. So far I can get everything in sequence for this to work, except getting the tv to switch the inputs 2 or 3 times to HDMI for DVD.

Sorry for the long post. I couldn't think of a way of explaining it any shorter. Any thoughts?

I have this remote and I programmed my TV to switch source, but I had to use some empty fillers(takes a min for TV to come on)

I am using the system control button B, My TV comes on , then DVD, then AVR, I then use 6 empty codes(turning CD player one, turning vcr on, turning tape on((i dont have any of these hooked up)) then i turn them off again, then programmed remote to switch video source 2x's

Works fine for me. I dont have the manual nearby, but if I recall correctly the remote holds up to 12 or 15 functions.
