hey all, I recently bought an HDMI cable for my TV. For some reason the sound is off on my HD channels. When I plug my HD component cables in, it works fine. What could be the problem? Any ideas?

If you'r using a componet wire system you need to hook up you audo cabels too.

No. I think you misunderstood. I bought the HDMI cable and hooked it up. On my HD channels the sound is off sync. When I hook my component cables and remove the HDMI cable, the sound is in sync and all is well.

Just to clarify for them even more. When using the HDMI cable, is the off sync audio being sent via HDMI, or are you able to use red/white cables?

Yes, the audio is off sync. I get sound and all, but just off sync. I did find a setting in my TV for A/V Sync. I turned it on and plugged my HDMI back in...seems ok so far...

I think HDMI is just for image you definitivly need another cable set for your sound. Stereo RCA or maybe Optic fibre or HD Sound (true surround) cables..

HDMI carries both audio and video. You should get sound with no trouble. (DVI is video only, HDMI has both).
