Is the Toshiba 26HF66 any good?
Fry's has it on sale for $290. But what I don't understand is that it has two display modes, 540p and 1080i... Does that mean all 720p info is downscaled to 540p?
No, all 720p is upscaled to 1080i. They just changed the name of 480p to 540p to make it sound cooler, it's really just 480p and 1080i.
As far as the TV goes, I've heard a lot people complain about reliability issues, so try and get a warranty. I have a 26HF84 and it's served me well. Search for 26HF85, 26HF84, and 30HF84 or 30HF85. I've posted pictures and tips here and there.
Bottom line: Decent components inside and good HD picture, Poor quality control and factory calibration.

Thanks for the reply. My brother is graduating highschool and he heas a PS3, he has been looking for a small LCD to use with his PS3, and I reccomended a small CRT since they are much cheaper. Thanks for the reply. It is like a ghost town in the CRT board :(
PS3, eh? That's too bad...
j/k, hope that thing gets some games soon.

haha! yeah I know I own a 360, but I got to say Resistance is pretty fun, and my brother is a RPG fantatic, he has played every Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, Chrono Cross, Kingdom Hearts, etc game out there! Its insane, but the PS3 will most likely be that type of system.
