Haven't been here in a long while. I'm having a picture cropping problem with my set. I am running satellite on comp-2 @ 1080i, DVD on the DVI port @1080i and a PC through a breakout cable on the DTV RBGHV inputs. I have been using powerstrip for the PC resolution which is set at 848x480 @ 60Hz. No problems for the last couple of years.
This started about 5 days ago right after a storm  .....I know what your thinking but rest assured I have Power Blockers on all my equipment. And nothing seems to be really fried anyways. On to the problem...
The first thing I noticed was my PC desktop was cropped off. No problem I thought this has happend before and I figured that it was just a setting in powerstrip that I needed to revamp. I went all through P.S. and found all the settings to be correct. I have the default set to the resolution above that I know works. Returned the settings to default still no luck. Then I noticed that my PC desktop was no longer running in 1080i but in 480p. So I tried the format trick...Standard..Strech..Zoom.. etc. None of them make any difference for the cropping and I just end up back at Standard with the same problem.
More... (Here's why I think it's a problem with the set and not the PC vid.)
I flipped over to the Satellite input and had no problem running in 1080i. However, I noticed that the picture is still cropped!? Tickers, station ID's cut off....So again I went through the different formats to no avail. Thus, the probem exists independent of the 1080i, 480p, resolution settings.
The last thing I tried before starting my search on the web was to switch to the DTV PC input and go to the back of the set and pull the cables out and reinsert them. I checked the set after every reseating and no luck still. I also pulled the VGA cable at the PC and have rebooted multiple times checking both the Windows resolution and the P.S. resolution boxes. Everything seems to be set correctly.
To sum up the problem(s) my set is not converting to 1080i for my DTV RBGHV input, and it is cropping the picture in both resolutions on the DTV PC and Comp-2 Satellite inputs.
I just checked the DVD input and it is running in 1080i but I can't tell for sure yet if it is cropped. Thanks in advance for any help or references to help for my thread.
