I am searching for software that allows me to edit various Mpeg formats and convert to other formats (HD tc files to WMVHD and so on) and burn to DVD. I am trying a program called "Movie Edit Pro 11" (Version 12 is out as well) by Magix software and it is very feature filled and the price is right, 50 bucks.

Does anyone have any experience with this program? Do you know of any other programs with the features of this program in or close to this price range?

I have been unable to effectively get MEP 11 to run on my system so far. It's slow (takes 20 min. to load a 8GB ts file), freezes often and produces DVD that have the audio out of sync with the video (5 sec. or more sometimes). But according to their forum there are many that have this program running with no problem, they may not be trying to push it so hard.

My system is a Pen D 2.66 GHz, 512 MB ram, running Windows XP MCE 2002 with all the updates.

Would like to hear any input from anyone that has tried this program and it works or failed for them. If you know something that will do the same job (close in price range) please tell me about it?
