I am a total beginner when it comes to sound systems and hookups. I just have one question. I am getting a new samsung DLP next week with 2 hdmi , 1 vga , and 1 Digital optical (toslink). The question is, I have a sony reciever with only one toslink connector, so if I plug a toslink cable into the tv and run it to the one toslink on the reciever will it pump out digital audio to the receiver no matter which source is being used? The HD Cable box and PS3 will be on HDMI , and the xbox 360 will run through VGA. Also if this is not possible is there any way to have more than one toslink going into the receiver with an adapter? Thank you.

RadioShack has optical switches for cheap. I'm sure Crutchfield carries them as well. I don't see why stores that sell midrange equipment (Best Buy, American, Colder's, Circuit City) wouldn't stock them.

The Optical outs on many sets don't always work for all sources. The switcher is the way to go until you can upgrade your receiver to HDMI.
