I have the Sirius Home Unit noted here:

My question is, even if I got a universal remote that would control all the functions, how could I get the universal remote to reproduce the showing of the channels, artist, and song like the original remote?

How is the remote showing updated information? Is it a two way IR?
How would I be able to reproduce that incoming information into my CQC or Home Automation system to show the same data?

Thanks for any help.....

Currently there is no way to get that Metadata on any universal remote other than the Sirius Conductor remote. The Metadat is streamed via the Z-Wave RF protocol which allows for 2-way communication but the universal Z-Wave controllers from Harmony and Monster don't have the 2-way comm. enabled yet.

As far as getting the info into CQC or other HA software... I'm not sure. You should check with Dean at CQC as he knows everything there is to know about his software. If he can't help you should check out cocoontech.com - great for the advanced HA questions that aren't covered here at AVS
