A year ago I was interested in purchasing an HP 65 inch DLP. The only thing keeping me from making the purchase was in order to get the tv into my apartment, we would have to tilt it 45 degrees to get it up the low ceiling stairwell. The guy who owned the store said that you shouldn't tilt a DLP tv, because of the chance of knocking the mirror off, and ruining your tv.
I never heard of such a thing, but I'm sure the guy wouldn't want to talk himself out of a sale, and so I took his word for it.
Which left me taking off DLP off my list, and went looking for other options. I was never impressed with the plasma TV within my price range, and didn't get excited over a TV until I saw my friends Sony Wega SXRD 60.
The tv is a rear projection with an amazing image, and I was instantly hooked. My only question is would such a be able to handle being tilted 45 degrees up the stairs without knocking something out of alignment? Can the projector be taken out, so that the shell of the tv is empty in order to take that upstairs then insert the projector again?
thanks. Damn those stairs!!!
