I have a desktop which I don't turn on constantly. I also have a western digital my book where I store all my media files. (connect to my desktop)

I have been looking for a wireless router where I can connect my USB mybook to allow the mybook act as a NAS, with access from all other computers i have (laptops)

I am also looking for a streamer where I can stream all my media to my 50 inch plasma

So naturally, I would like to find a digital stream where I can connect my USB HD to, and also allow access from any other computers within the network ( so for example, I download something to my laptop, and I can immediately transfer the files to the Mybook, and not have to go thru my desktop)

Thanks for any suggestions!!!

I have a Ximeta NDAS (not quite NAS) that has both USB 2.0 and ethernet. If you run their software on all your devices, you can do what I think you are describing.

I want a digital stream device that lets me connect my USB drive and still be accessible via other nodes in the network...

I am looking at the EVA8000 netgear... it shows it has a USB port to connect an external drive... the only question is... I don't think I can access the USB drive anymore after I connect it to EVA8000, or can I? If it can, then it basically is what I am looking for.

no other suggestion? anyone? please

thanks
