My parents gave me there 32" Sony Trinitron XBR to take home with me on a trip. Now the tv is attaced to a base that has a sub woofer. I own a Subaru Outback and need to travelfrom Washington to So. California. Would the the TV be safe enough if i lay it on its side or back and secure it with pillows and blankets? Or is there a way to remove the base so i can just set it upright. the model # for the TV is Sony KV-32XBR85 if that helps. If you know how to remove the base please let me know, from what i can see there is no screws to take the base off.

Ok so it woud be safe and fine if i transport it on its tube. Right now its in the car on its Tube, but i keep hearing from people that its not safe to transport the tv that way and to put it on its back. I found the TV and Stand are a single unit. It wont mess up the TV now if its on its rested on it tube for a long time?

It's always best to put the tube facing front of the car seat with the tube touching the seats. Putting the tube face down may cause the buttons at the front of the TV to be pushed in a little. You don't want that.

The buttons are located on the top of the TV. Unfortunately because of its height it can only being placed in the car laying down. Ok beside the buttons, is it still okay to transport it tube face down?

It wont mess up the TV now if its on its rested on it tube for a long time?I've been transporting TVs for 42 years. That's the best way. Just make sure that whatever you lay the face on is soft and has no grit/garbage in it which can scratch the glass and that the TV itself cannot slide around! Seat belts or straps can be used.
