Ok, purpose of this thread is primarily to critique my invitation.

This is primarily for my neighbors. I will have some family over as well, and none of the rules will apply to them.

My goal is to not offend anyone, but also make sure that parents are responsible for their own kids.

This is what I have so far:

Saturday, May 5th, 2007
Event starts at 7:30 PM

Event will be shown outside on a 106” screen. This event will be shown in High Definition.

Please bring your own lawn chairs.
The Boxing match will be the only entertainment for the evening. If you do bring your children, please watch them carefully throughout the evening, as no babysitting services will be provided.

Due to the unknown number of guests, the house and backyard will be off-limits for the evening.
There will be one restroom available above the garage.
Parents, please accompany your children to the restroom (No exceptions)
Please do not bring any beverages into the garage or restroom.

Beverages will not be provided. Please bring your own beverages.
Trash receptacles will be made available. Please dispose of your beverage containers only in the trash receptacles provided.

I will be hosting the location and covering the pay-per-view fees. Unfortunately refreshments will not be available. However you are encouraged to bring snacks. I’ll have a snack table setup and available.

I also plan to label a few container (probably recycle containers) "TRASH" and I'll have signs pointing to the restroom as well as a sign at the top of the stairs "NO DRINKS BEYOND THIS POINT" and probably a little table to put the drinks on.

I don't want to sound assholian, but also want to have some semblance of order.

Well, I understand your point however reading it leads me to believe there will be NO FUN ALLOWED.

I've never had to do invites but that's just my opinion. You could perhaps try making the invite look as if it's an advertisement to the fight itself.

LADIES AND GENTELMEN WELCOME TO FIGHT NIGHT!!!
Before the we can enjoy the evening a few simple guidelines must be followed or the result will be a disqualification!
Rule 1
No peeing in the bird bath.
Rule 2
No unsupervised ect ect
Rule 3
Ect ect
Rule 4
ect

Fight being sponsored by _____________(You) and will be presented in absolute High Definition ect ect

Thanks. Fun is allowed. This honestly is directed towards one neighbor specifically. He's a good guy, and lives right across the street. He can see the screen from his yard, and he's a friend, so I gotta invite him.

But his kids are little monsters. I've had to chase his 3 year old out of my theater on more than one occasion and am afraid he'd be running up to the theater or inside the house and jumping all over the furniture all night.

I'll work on the invite a bit. Fun is absolutely allowed. Uncontrolled little monsters are not.

I had to get after a few kids and send them home until their parents came by (note to guests - do NOT send your kids over unless you accompany them!) and had to separate some kids during the event, but overall a great success.

Note to self - You cannot drink like you're 21. don't try it again!
