View Full Version : Video Transfer on Standard dvr .. do they have to offer an active port by law? The FCC has a toothless mandate that all cable MSO's must provide an STB with working firewire; the same doesn't apply to satellite companies for some odd reason. Doesn't matter anyways. TWC disabled their firewire ports on their STB's/DVR's last fall with an upgrade to their Passport operating system and thus have basically "blown off" the FCC. Thats what I'm dealing with here.. it is a Pace TD 575d with SATA port and according to the manual online it should be active.. i will give it a try tomorrow, If anyone has any good links to threads on the pace box i would appreciate it.. rezzy 04-30-07, 10:45 PM Looks like this is the only thread pertaining to the STD-def box.
