Please, please, please can somebody shed any light on the issues I'm having.
As of now TV is a giant paperweight in my living room. TV shuts itself off automatically after only being on for a minute or less. I've had the on/off situation in the past and thought it was the lamp. I ordered a new lamp in November of 2006 and tv eventually resumed normal function. Now the problem is back. I ordered a 3rd lamp (even though service menu indicates on 2600 hrs) hoping that this would again fix my issues, but unfortunately it hasn't. TV turned on for about 3 minutes with red tint to the screen before shutting off, running the startup cycle a few times, & eventually shutting down for good. (No remote response either)
Six months after purchasing my TV I needed to have the DMD board replaced under warranty. I'm now however past on the warranty and wondering what my options are to fix this thing. I'm located in Laramie, WY and the nearest authorized Samsung dealer in Cheyenne doesn't even do house calls.
I have a electronics background from my experience in the military so I'm hoping to possibly fix this myself if I can narrow it down to what's exactly defective. Beats hauling my tv to Cheyenne, paying $99/$299 for labor (minor/major), & part cost.
Please help.....
PS ~ does anyone have access to a samsungs technican service manual for these tv's?
