OAR, in my system (Comcast of NJ II - Union), great picture, IMHO. Great movie, too.

I can't say too much re sound, though, as I did not watch it with my home theater on.

Looked great to my untechnical eyes.

StarzHD itself has been looking much better lately.

It's also on On Demand (if you have Starz of course) along with some bonus stuff in HD.

When did this happen, seems to be a pretty quick (relatively) turnaround from the DVD release... hopefully it looks halfway decent on Dish's MPEG4 reencode =/

It was OAR (the DVD lists it as 2.39:1, whereas IMDB lists it as 2.35:1 - I couldn't tell the difference... :) ) on Comcast in the Seattle area. I didn't watch the whole thing (just turned on the DVR recording to check it out) and PQ seemed to be very very good (there was pixelation, but wasn't noticably distracting). Audio was DD 5.1 and sounded very good as well. Definitely something to add to the DVR

Cars was released in the US on 6/9/06. I believe the DVD was out in 11/06. They then usually hit the pay providers about 6 months after that, which is about now

It looked pretty good. Not as nice as "The Incredibles". But I was really glad to see it OAR.

The opening scene is a perfect CRT demo... a series of complete blackouts (I couldn't see my hand in front of my face), followed by rushes of fast, intense color and roaring sound.

1080i from Comcast cable on Motorola 6412 HD DVR deinterlaced to 1080p with a Lumagen HDP video processor. Sony G90 CRT projector with moome's HDMI card with gamma option. 9.5' wide on Wilsonart DW laminate screen.

Canon S80 point and shoot digital camera. Resized to 800 pixels wide. No photoshop...

I liked "The Incredibles" better as a movie - but thought that Cars had the better PQ - or, maybe it was just the colors were more vibrant. . . .

Except for the occasional pixelization, Cars looked great in HD on Starz, I was very impressed by the PQ. LOTS of detail and depth to the picture, I can't wait for the Blu-ray to come out!
