hi all, tried my new "HELIOS H4000 HD Upscaling DVD player", by connecting to with video-out -> scart adapter -> 27" normal 'Matsui' crt tv, and have no display, tried all possible modes on the tv i think..*however, it plays music just fine...*

Having just plugged my pc monitor into the players vga input, and receiving no display here either, it may be defective?

I don't want to try for a refund if it isnt indeed broken, from what i've written does it sound like it is, or can a decent testign method be suggested??

thanks, nice busy forum btw :)

Did you try reading the manual?

First connect the DVD via composite (yellow plug). Second, go through the menu and CHOOSE the output (VGA, SVGA, XGA, 720p, 1080i, 480i Svideo, 480i/p component, etc.). Third, your TV must be HDTV to support appropriate 720p, 1080i, 1080p component or HDMI.
