Hey Guys:
I am looking for a great monitor to hook up to my computer. I am looking in the 30" range. One of the monitors I have come across is the Samsung SyncMaster 305T. It's a bit pricey, but they say it's a great monitor. I am wondering if anyone has used this monitor or could suggest another model or two for me to check out.
Thanks,

I also can't decide on a 30" monitor: HP hp lp3065, Samsung 305T or Dell 3007WFP-HC. I am leaning towards the HP because it supposedly widest color gamut and best connections (3 DVI ports) as well as HDCP support. Samsung's only has one DVI (which is probably enough), but no HDCP support...but it does have the best response at 6ms. Dell has the best price. But am I getting hung up on specs, can anyone tell me which one is definitively the best?

The Dell has the same color gamut as the HP. The HC designation was applied earlier this year when they upped the color gamut of the previous Dell 3007WFP. I think unless you need the multiple inputs of the HP, the Dell is still the best bang for buck going right now. HOWEVER, if you can hold out a little while longer, Dell is coming out with a new 30" model which will have inputs galore, including a port that I know very little about - DisplayPort.

there is also a gateway 30" monitor, which has a very nice HQV scaler ship built-in...review on cnet.

Dell just released Dell 3008WFP which includes hdmi and new displayport interface. Samsung will soon release a similar one with 10 bit color

I really need to get ahold of a 10 bit capable display that supports DisplayPort (for testing some stuff) and I was wondering if anyone could confirm that the dell 3008WFP (a) does accept a 10 bit per channel signal via its DisplayPort connection and (b) if (a) is true can you actually notice a difference in gradients that would lead to banding artifacts?
Probably have to wait for the new samsungs...
Don't want to hijack this very old thread, so I posted a new thread with the same different question. Thx,
