So right now I have a Sony rear projection 57in 1080i HDTV that I've had for almost 5 years now. It's a great TV and the image quality has always been very good. I first got the TV when I was in a smaller apartment and the 57in was perfect for me.
I've been in my house now going on 3 years now and I'm probably sitting 15 feet away from the screen, so 57in just doesn't fill the view like it used to.
I have been looking at screens from 65-73in and the more I look at them, the more I feel like the 70-73 range is more worth the upgrade right now.
I think I've narrowed it down to three models below:
Sony KDSR70XBR2 70 Inch 1080P Grand Wega Sxrd XBR HDTV = $3,895.00
Samsung - HLS7178W 71" DLP Rear Projection HDTV = $3,389.00
Mitsubishi WD-73732 73-inch Medallion Series 1080p DLP HDTV = $3,349.99
So the question is which do you guys think is the best buy for the buck? I am figuring that the Sony probably has the best picture, then the Samsung and subsequently the Mistsubishi, but obviously the size goes in the other direction...
I'm leaning towards the Samsung just to go in between those two things...size and quality...
I took a look at the Mitsubishi at a local Tweeter, but they want $4250 for it. It looked great running a demo HD DVD! I saw the sony and the samsung, but they were 60 and 65in. both of those looked great as well...
So...I look forward to your thoughts...
Thanks.
