I just upgraded my receiver to the HR20 and added Superfan and wanted to say good job to D* in the way they are using the interactive feature.
Each game you are watching allows you to view the boxscore while watching the game. This is really useful to see who did what on a given night. I also like the way that GameMix serves as a hub with the interactive box and lets you quickly see what games aren't on commercial and easily switch to them. As long as Superfan stays $40 (which I doubt it will next year) it will be a bargain once all there are more games in HD.
The only one HD game a night almost stopped me from upgrading to Superfan, but I now find that I really miss the Strikezone Channel on nights it is not on. As a 9 year subscriber to Extra Innings it is nice to have something new.
Glad you like it, but I think it is a big ripoff.
Glad you think it is a ripoff, John, but I am enjoying it, too.
Good use of the technology.
To pull up the data on the HR-20 is still really slow for me.

I love superfan and will be ordering it next yet. I got it for free this year.....
It is extremely slow to pull up stats for me though.

How do you pull this up using the HR-20?
When watching a game you press the red button. This pulls up a menu with various choices, one of which is the boxscore for the game you are watching. You can also pull up stats for the current batter and the current pitcher, MLB standings, a scoreboard for the day that shows the WP and LP, and NL and AL leaders.
The stats are not instantaneous, but I don't find them painfully slow either. The initial load takes a couple of seconds, but moving around in each category (standings, leaders, box scores, etc.) is pretty quick.
What part are you finding slow -- the intiial appearance of the menu on screen or moving around in the menu? I find the first slow, but the second to be pretty quick.

Wow, didn't know this about the HR20 and SF. Will this only work for this model? I have the HR10 but I suppose this is a mpeg-4 thing? Darn, I was waiting on calling retention to upgrade until summer was over but this neat little feature is very interesting and is tempting me to upgrade earlier than I had planned.
It is well worth, it Maestro J.
Chances are when you upgrade, you'll be able to keep your HR10 -- I've got two of each and DirecTV never even asked for the HR10s when they installed the 20s.
So I use the TiVos for most of my OTA, and the HR20s for DirecTV and cable network.

Loading the stats takes some time on mine but once loaded you can pull up the stats quick. Its good to have the pitch count with a few clicks. With ch 732 to switch audio between games seems to take a few seconds.

I have 7 receivers...
D* doesn't care as long as you pay that extra 4.95/box fee
