I found this message while browsing their listserv:

It seems to have a full http link to the rpm but I'm not a YDL user so you might need more files, or maybe the server is password protected.
Edit: yeah, the server is password protected.
I am an enhanced YDL user. I have it if you guys want i can upload it to a free hosting site.
GW-SMOkeY 05-01-07, 08:29 PM PM me please! This means so much bro, it will enable me to utilize my distro completely. I simply haven't used the current ethernet based just because I did not want to run a cable.
Do you know where these improvements came from? For Gentoo, there is a new patched kernel with many improvements but there is no mention of wi-fi. Have TS developed a driver or is this standard with newer kernels? Have they posted any details about this other than these two links?
Oh, I see they are still using a 2.6.16 kernel. The new patched one for Gentoo is 2.16.21.
Apparently wifi came with gameOS 1.70?

GW-SMOkeY 05-01-07, 08:39 PM It seems. I currently own both fedora core, and YDL. However, while I was at GDC07 - TS was kind enough to hook it up with Official YDL.
I uploaded it to rapidshare.

GW-SMOkeY 05-01-07, 08:50 PM Thanks, grabbing it right now!
I downloaded the file, ran the rpm, thought i edited the kboot file right but i guess not and now linux keeps repeating a sorta file not found error. anyone here know how to fix my oops?
edit: I went back to the install disc to revert back. Basically, I don't think i understand the directions as to how to edit the kboot file properly
GW-SMOkeY 05-01-07, 11:46 PM Simply Kick ASS! Seriouisly, I am typing away on it. The WiFi works wonder, much faster than trough the XMB, and also no issues disconnecting,
Homie: Simply when u double click on the RPM it will attempt to install it. Once complete go ahead and make a copy of your kboo.conf file ( just in case stuff goes hiwire ) then right click on the .conf file if you like to use the GUI ( easier ) and select open with VI editor. Once edited, save and VOILAH!
Remember, you have to make sure to add oldydl="the old version" so it wont boot to that kernel.
Hopet that helps, if you need detailed instructions PM me.
Cysquatch 05-02-07, 12:47 AM I installed YDL back in December but haven't touched it since then due to lack of Wifi. GW, i may need some help updating. Gonna PM ya. ;)
Blitzzz 05-02-07, 12:55 PM quick question...can you install this package offline (no internet connection)?
last time I ran the mplayer rpm, it went looking for an online repository which kinda defeats the purpose since I have no wifi
bdizzle 05-02-07, 01:28 PM Does it support the 6axis yet? The last time I tried YDL so much stuff wasn't working for me.
Thanks

Now we need Bluetooth support and 2D/3D hardware acceleration for direct rendering of desktop items.
I can't believe they released such a crippled version of their OS.
DJ Nupe 05-03-07, 07:52 AM One Noob question here:
I'm having trouble editing "kboot.conf". When I go into the "/etc" folder the kboot.conf file is read only. How can I change the permission on the file to write and edit the file?
Squeezle 05-03-07, 08:11 AM Not sure, but I think you have to be logged on as "root" to edit the system files (such as kboot.conf). Also, in the terminal, it may work if you use a super-user command (sudo editdiff /etc/kboot.conf)???. Someone else may be able to explain better :p . Like someone said before you should definately make a copy of the original files before you edit in case you royally beef it  !
I got the update and did the kboot edit. Everything worked, but I could not get the wireless device to obtain a IP. I'm guesing my wireless settings in the PS3 are wrong, it's not very clear where to put what. Has anyone got it working?

>su
enter root password
>chmod 777 kboot.conf
works like a charm. What i did was double click the kboot file to edit it rather than open it with the actually editing program. :o
Still needs flash for it to be more useful though
bdizzle 05-03-07, 03:11 PM so...does anyone know if it supports the 6 axis yet?
DJ Nupe 05-03-07, 03:18 PM Thanks for the tips guys. I will try this evening.
ValkyrieStation 05-03-07, 11:23 PM Update -- Figured out my problem on my own, thanks anyway..
