I am in the process of getting a new tv. I am going from a Pioneer Elite 520HD to either a 60A2020 or a 60XBR2. I have read some of the topics were people compare the 60a2020 and the XBR2, but it is hard to compare the two tvs in the stores. I was wondering if any calibrators have worked on both sets and were there any differences in the HD picture between the two. I don't care about PIP, cable card or the exta HDMI on the front of the XBR2. I mostly watch HD content or play XBOX 360, so standard tv is not that important to me. Is it worth the extra money to buy the XBR2? I know the A2020 owners seem to be very happy with there purchase.

Hey djdv8:
IMHO the A2020 (and the virtually identical A2000) is a fine display, and as you say the A2000/2020 owners seem happy, but I'm no expert. UMR, on the other hand, is a well respected calibrator who posts on this forum and you asked about calibrators. If you go to post #1724 in the A2000 thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=701578&page=58&pp=30) you can read his initial impression of that display (should be similar to the A2020?). If you then head over to post #1844 in the XBR2 SXRD thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=730418&page=62&pp=30) you can see his reaction to a 70" XBR2 (again, should be similar to the 60"?). Dunno if his opinions have changed over time.

I will check out those posts. Thanks alot
