I have had several occasions when the DVR did not record the entire ball game because it went into overtime.

I was under the impression that DVR's were not time bound but rather program bound.

Is there a way to set it up so it records until the program ends regardless of time.

Highlight the program in the guide, press the info button, press the record button and select modify recording. Then select 'end recording' time and add enough for extra innings / overtime (I usually select end one hour after completion for baseball games).

Ok...I've done that...what happens when it's beyond that. Yesterday I needed an extra 2 hours.

Seems silly that it does not know about the programming itself.

If it's beyond that, you are screwed.

Unfortunetly, the system has no way to compensate for things like OT/Extra innings, the program lengths and times in the guide data are static and cannot change. I always added 30min for college hoops, never had that not be enough. Many times 2hrs is enough.
