Hey,

Trying to help a buddy hook up a new Comcast DVR to his new Hitachi Plasma. We're using the HDMI out of the DVR into HDMI "Input 1" on the plasma. Set the Input to "Cable (STB) for Input 1. "No signal. No sync"

We did get a picture through on Input 5 (the side hookups) with a DVD player hooked up with component inputs and Input 5 set to "DVD.

Anyone with this combo care to let us in on the secret to getting this combo to work?

Thanks...

Any possibility that the HDMI port on the Cable box isn't active? I know people in my neighborhood had to get the box tweaked or activated for HDMI.

Also, have you changed the menu in the Cable box?

There is a step, apologize if you already know this, but you leave the tv on, turn the cable box off, and then hit Menu on the Cable remote. There are setting for 16:9, HDMI output and SD content.

Those might need to be changed. Those are the only things I can think of, good luck!

It is possible it isn't activated. I have a Phase II box myself. It's harder to set up using only the front panel but we didn't see any settings besides, 16x9, the 4:3 override and CC.

I'm guessing the additional HDMI settings only come with the latest firmwware? Maybe it doesn't have it?
