Looks like we won't get calling all cars but will get Gauntlet II on Thursday. I don't know if they have said they are actually going to include voice chat on this one.

Can you save your game progress? I too used to play this game to death on my monochrome 286/25 when I was 12 or so I think....

Does it support mic?

"Unique to the PlayStation 3 version of Gauntlet II is four-person online multiplayer support, leaderboard rankings, and resolutions up to 1080p."

I loved Gauntlet in the arcades back in the day but after watching the trailer, I dunno if I can go back to that pixelated mess. I am torn :(

I know what you mean. A square in 1080p is still, you know......a square.

Not sure if I want to spend $5 on this, when Calling All Cars will be a true HD multiplayer game for $10.

Probably no mic as I bet it isnt online mutiplayer. The origonal game was of course 4 players crowed around the arcade game so I bet this is the same.

Its a no brainer for $4.99 for me. Im mean come on. Its less then when I go to Bruger King. :)

I thought they chose these new downloadable games such as Gauntlet, MKII and the others for their online playability. It would be kind of silly if they now didn't include it.

The Video Demo of this looked way too zoomed in from what I remember. Anyone else think that too?
Also, this looks like a port of the PC/8-bit console version...which is crap compared to the actual arcade version. Why are we not getting the arcade version??????????
or am I mistaken?

Your attention to detail is staggering. See post #4:

Reading my post again, it looks snippier than intended. I probably should have put one of these :D after the first sentence. Sorry if it came off heavy.

Agreed. But if it sells for $5, i'll buy it, especially if I can share it with 2 other ps3s.

Gauntlet II with no voice even though it is online. First MK II, now this. I'm assuming that Rampart won't have voice chat either. If they keep screwing up, I'd much rather see this stuff coming out for XBLA where it gets done right.

Screwing up? Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. In my experience, 75% of the people don't talk on XBox Live, and the ones that do are small children.

Wow, you must not have any friends. I talk with my friends on Live several times a week while gaming. It's a blast!

When XBLA games like Gauntlet I have online voice chat on a $5 title, what is the excuse for Gauntlet II (also $5) to not have voice chat? There is none. This just makes the PS3 look like a weak online platform, somebody doesn't get it.

Sorry, but I haven't turned on my PS3 for a very long time since there really isn't anything to do on the PS3. I just turned it on and noticed that Gauntlet II and Calling all cars is out ... I'm definitely getting CaC but whats the end verdict on Gauntlet II? I know theres no sound like I read but are people playing this or what?

I like Gauntlet II, but I pretty much suck at it and run out of health quickly even when I don't shoot the food, lol. The other day I was playing with someone who had a ton of health and was using a cheat of some sort to keep increasing it. What gives???

His "cheat" was putting more quarters in which is done by pressing triagle or maybe it's square. Trust me that you have to do this to make it past more that just two or three levels. The only bad thing is that your score will be divided by the number of quarters you put in.
