First off, I have to say that I have the following for my HT setup:
tv: Samsung LN-S4695D 46" 1080p LCD
avr: Denon 1706
speakers: 5.1 setup Polk Audio RTi series
I currently own a 360, and I love it. The following lists are my Buy / Don't Buy lists:
Reasons to Buy:
1. Blu-Ray movie playback
2. Folding@Home
Reasons Not to buy:
1. Own a 360, could just get HD-DVD add on.
2. Won't play games most likely, since I have 360.
So, basically I'm looking at the PS3 for Blu-Ray movies and for Folding@Home as a side benefit. I'll probably never buy a game for it, since I'm perfectly happy with the 360's games and the Live service. I am partly interested in the future Home service, but really, this will be my next gen movie player.
Should I spend the money (even the 20gb version will cost me $500 + service plan) or should I just get a HD-DVD add on for the 360?
I also do like Sony's support of Linux on the PS3.
Thanks for helping.
