I have 3 things to hookup: Samsung LNT5265 TV, Panasonic SC-HT1500 home theater, and Motorola DCT 6412 HD DVR STB. My goal is to use the DVR to record shows I want to watch later but the Panasonic is for recording shows I want to keep as well as watch DVDs. I have a vague idea of how it should go together but would appreciate input from some of you veterans. I am attaching diagrams of the backs of each piece so the available connections can be seen. Help is much appreciated.

I'm presuming you always will have the SA-HT1500 turned on to listen to TV sound.
Connect the RF cable to the Motorola. Connect the S-video and optical audio to the SA-HT1500. Connect component video from SA-HT1500 to one TV input and either component video or HDMI video from the Motorola to another TV input. If you want to listen to sound from the Motorola without having the SA-HT1500 turned on, then also connect analog L-R audio from the Motorola to the TV.
The SA-HT1500 will be receiving what ever is being displayed by the Motorola.
Thanks alot! I would prefer to hear through the TV daily with the Panny as an optional alternative (football games and movies mostly). That is how it is now for me. Just got this TV so I am very much a noob and the DVR will also be something for me to learn.
