I recorded a bunch of chapters on a regular DVD-R using my new Toshiba D-KR10. After I titled all the chapters, I wanted to set the thumbnail frames of each one for the menu. But, I can't seem to find a way to do it. My old machine (a Pioneer DVR 210) had a "Navi Mark" button which allowed me to choose any frame I wanted from any chapter as the menu thumbnail. Unfortunately, this deck doesn't seem to have that. The manual mentions nothing of that feature either. By default, it seems the first frame of the chapter is what's displayed as its thumbnail. Before I finalize this thing, does anyone know if I'm missing something? Or, does anyone have any suggestions to try? Thanks.

I don't have a Toshiba but I doubt you are missing anything. Your machine probably can't do what your Pioneer did. I know my Panasonic E100 always took the first frame of the program for use as the thumbnail. In many many cases that was a totally black frame. It wouldn't even allow placing titles or thumbnails on chapters.

Hopefully a Toshiba D-KR10 user will have better news for you.
