I am looking for an inexpensive RF Remote for my bathroom. I am putting the STB in the attic above the bathroom and mounting the TV on the bathroom wall. I only need the remote to control the STB and the TV. Any suggestions. I have Verizon FiOs and the Motorola Hi Def Box.

If you can find the URC urc100, or 200. They have been replaced by the URC RF10, RF20. cheaper then these are the OFA urc-9910, but the RF proformance stinks. Go with URC models.

Do those remotes come with something to convert the RF to IR and blast it to the components? I am looking for a similar solution for the new LCD I just bought for our bedroom. I want to put the dvd player and STB in the closet but don't want to buy and install a whole IR sensor, hub, etc.

The remotes mentioned are used with a separate base station that converts the RF signal from the remote back to IR to control the components, either via a front IR blaster or wired emitters. The remotes send both IR and RF at the same time.

cheaper then these are the OFA urc-9910, but the RF proformance stinks. Go with URC models. It's true that the URC-9910 can have problems if there's alot of RF noise in the vacinity, but given that only a short range is required here (to get from the bathroom to the attic above), the URC-9910 will be totally adequate for the job.

I just received the RF20 + MRF-100 combo, and it works very well in my media room. If you're interested, I can tell you where to get it for $99 + shipping from an authorized online dealer. Just send a PM.
