Is it just me or does Blast Factor, Cash Guns Chaos, and now this new Super Stardust HD all look like the same game but with a different theme?

View Full Version : Is it just me? (PSN Mini Games) WYSEGUY 05-03-07, 06:37 PM Is it just me or does Blast Factor, Cash Guns Chaos, and now this new Super Stardust HD all look like the same game but with a different theme? Jaren613 05-03-07, 06:47 PM I was about to say the same thing. I mean really Sony, they are obviously the same game, just keep the names the same to save confusion! I think it's a good marketing strategy though, because now it appears as if the PSN actually has games on it, when in actuality, they are all just a copy of the same video of a game on XBLA. BrianEK 05-04-07, 12:02 AM I hate this ever growing list of Geometry Wars clones. I must say Stardust HD looks pretty cool but there are so many games that use the same control scheme and just have a different "skin" on them, it's starting to get silly. todrigo 05-04-07, 01:07 AM Cash Guns Chaos is actually to revised version of the "SMASH TV!" game that came out in the early 90's. Blastfactor is similar in control but thats about it. Blastfactor throws waves of enemies at you in specific patterns that you have use a strategic plan of attach to deal with, while CGC sends them in a random pattern and creates, well... Chaos. I find both fun, but I agree that the control scheme is getting a lot of use from these games. Hopefully more games based on the motion sensing will come out for D/L timberdoodle 05-04-07, 10:41 AM I never really thought about how similar these games are. Either way CGC is pretty fun, incredibly difficult. Conspiracy* 05-04-07, 01:09 PM FLow isnt like any other game on the box... Super-rub is kinda cool. I spent a lil bit over an hour last night just on the demo. My wife even got in on it a bit! joeblow 05-04-07, 01:21 PM I hate this ever growing list of Geometry Wars clones. Stardust came out over a decade before Geometry Wars was thought up. And the control scheme you love so much has been around since the days of Robotron in the very early 1980s. There were shooters before the XBox you know. |
