I live in NYC and was pleasantly surprised to find a store that actually has an HD1 in stock. I am curious, before I take the plunge, is there any difference between the HD1 and RS1 that I have to be concerned about? I've heard of it referred to as the "european version" of the RS1. Should I be concerned about buying it here in the US? Also, they're asking full retail price 6200 or so. I've heard that if i buy over the internet it voids the warranty. Thoughts on getting it for 1k less over the internet vs. buying it at a brick and morter store??
thanks!

I quick use the search engine will bring up a thread or two that have addressed this topic
Update: I put HD1 in the general search engine and here is a thread asking the same exact question.

The best and quickest way to find answers is to search first and post second.

Yes I read that thread and it was old, so I figured there would be some updates since then. In fact, back in january, Jason Turk wrote:
There are a set of differences that JVC will annouce soon. Stay tuned.
... and there were no more specifics mentioned on that thread.
SO, thanks for the tutorial on searching vs. posting, however my question still remains: what, if any, differences are there other than color?

HD1 is sold worldwide including the US. The RS1 is sold via the JVC Pro channel in the US only with the HD1 being sold via JVC Consumer. In Europe both JVC consumer and pro channels sell the HD1 but the warranty via the consumer channel is better (3 years/1000 lamp v 1 Year) but it's a little cheaper via the pro channel.
The product is the same apart from the colour of the face plate.

Here's another thread that came up in the same search, which confirms what dazz says
