I read several posts about transferring recordings or at least capturing live from the 8300HD to a Mac. All I have with me is a 9 pin to 6 pin firewire cable that I know works well, but when I connected it nothing happened. The 8300HD doesn't show up on system profiler at all, and I followed the tips in other posts that said I needed to download the firewire SDK and use Virtual DVHS, however those posts are old. Could it be that nothing is showing on my Mac because I am using a 9-pin to 6-pin cable? Would I have any success if I bought a 6-pin to 6-pin? I just don't want to go through the trouble if it's not going to work. Can Mac users that had any recent success in capturing from Cable DVRs post their stories?
