Brian Williams announced their moving into a temporary studio monday (high Tech studio)
but plan on moving in to another studio this winter
Wonder whats that all about ? anyone know

According to this, they're rebuilding Studio 3C. Apparently all the video of news staff in the background was the same video from 1999 when they unveiled the new set. Interesting.
It says their temporary home will be the sports set. I'm assuming that's 8G on the Football Night in America set. Not bad, and means HD won't be a problem.
I guess the real question is... if this was planned all this time, why the push to go HD if the set is going to be out of use for several months? Testing of some kind?
they're rebuilding parts of 30 rock to accommodate MSNBC, which is moving there from NJ.
should have been done many years ago.
Time to bump an old thread, new studio looks nice, but that (LED?) panel below the desk needs to be changed, looks horrible (maybe use a few plasma's!), and the new 4:3 graphics set, I dont much care for the static display at the bottom (dates)

Yeah, looks like LED's. Looks horrible to me too. Everything else looks pretty cool though.
I agree about the LEDs, they don't look good at all. Also the new pillars they are using with the 4x3 content have way to much going on in them, with stuff animating all over them.
