Hello. I am just wondering if anyone knows where I can see a Sim2 D80 or HT3000 in person. I live in central NJ (Red Bank area).
Also, if anyone has any advice on either of these projectors, that would be a big help. Thanks!

I have and can recommend the HT3000. It's suitable for a reasonably-sized screen in a room with light control. Very smooth, detailed picture with low noise. Excellent adjustability with solid firmware.
The D80 is a little dimmer, maybe the lens isn't quite as good, but still an excellent unit according to the feedback here.

I am sure that sim has dealers displaying the products in your area ... the best way might be to give them a call and ask for a sales rep in your area. 954 442 2999
I saw both products, and I have to say that the ht 3000 did perform a bit better than the d 80, but I think the 3000 was prices 5 or 6k higher than the 80.
It depends on your pockets, nevetheless, the d 80 did a very good and seamless job.

When you call Sim2 ask about their fly and buy promotion. If you buy a pj while there they will pay for your travel.

I also have spent time with both. The D80 is no slouch but the HT3000 really shines. Top of its class. No rainbows, I tried to see them.

I replaced a Sim 300e with a HT 3000 a couple of months ago. I am sure the 5000 is brighter but it is hard to imagine a much better PJ than the 3000. Have not seen the 80.

"Let's hope this is just a bump in the road, and that SIM2 sends us a properly fucntioning HT3000. But for now it must be known that the HT3000 did come through our doors (twice) and didn't even make it through the review process. Anyone considering this product at retail should inquire about the issues mentioned here and receive strict assurances that these problems have been resolved before throwing their money down."

I actually spoke to one of the sales reps about this article, it seems that sim was trying to get a review out the door prior to officially launching the product and it still had a few glitches to be taken care of.
From what I saw, the latest model did a great job.
