Hello everyone. I am looking to get an upconvert dvd player with sacd/dvd-audio capabilities.
Here is my question:
Now that the Oppo 981 and the Denon 1920 are around the same price and seem to have pretty much the same features, which one should i go with?

I have been told that the denon has better audio. is that true?

I just would really love to hear an opinion on what is considered to be the best machine.
I have a Sony KD 34XBR970 direct view high def tube tv if that helps.

I would buy the Oppo. I had the Denon 1920 and a Sony 36 inch HD Sony TV. The Denon 1920 has audio synch issues on multiple tv's I had it on. There is no way to adjust it through the 1920's menus. If your receiver has adjustments, that is good.

A freind brought his Oppo 970 over and it looked every bit as good, plus no audio synch issues. If memory serves, I think the Oppo's have an audio synch adjustment.

Another plus with the Oppo's is that you can play pal disks, divx, ect, ect.....
