I have a Panasonic LCD 26 inch Television with HDMI input. Over the last two weeks I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a Panasonic DVD Recorder with HDMI output to replace my older DMR-ES15. The first machine DMR-ES45 caused when hooked up with a $20 Panasonic HDMI cable the top of the television screen (the horizontal line) to wiggle up and down, the left and right margins, and the bottom margin were rock solid, but not the top. I called Panasonic - they suggested a new cord was needed. Off I went and bought an $80 Monster HDMI cable (with the proviso that I could bring it back) and the wiggle was still there. Since this was the only DMR-ES45 in the store it went back and I exchanged it for a DMR-ES25. After hooking this up same wiggle. Another call to Panasonic who suggested that the TV was at fault. Since we have a second HDMI television (not a Panasonic) I lugged the equipment over to it and attached it AND still that wiggle. Since I triple checked my installation, and the second call to Panasonic had me check it "live" with them I cannot for the life of me figure this one out. Niether Panasonic recorder had a problem with component video out or S video out and the TV has no problem with those signals coming in ... just this d.... wiggle on the upper portion of the image when in HDMI mode. The second Panasonic went back. Any suggestions for my next attempt to get a stable picture? THANKS in advance for your thoughts and comments!
