I'm a newbie, so please forgive my basic question.

Just completed a house addition. Contractor told us he had "wired our house for cable tv." The outside box at the elect. panel has 4 coaxial cables stubbed out. We use a standard attic antenna - cable is not available and roof-mounted antennas are not allowed. I can get the LCD tv to receive a tv signal if I wire it direct to the antenna. I do not get a signal if I connect the antenna to any of the 4 coax in the box, and connect the LCD to the coax jack in the wall. The house has 4 tv coax jacks.

I'm appreciative of any help.

You might want to invest in a handful of 75-ohm terminators and a cheap multi-meter. Try connecting the terminators at the wall plates, then ohm-out the four lines, to see if you have continuity.....a shorted cable would show as almost zero, an open one as almost infinity, and a good one around 75-85 ohms.

That will, at least, identify the lines and make sure they are all there. Next step, would be to see if they are properly terminated, physically. That is, if the connectors are on properly.
