The NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Richmond was postponed last night due to rain. Rescheduled on FOX for 1PM ET today.

My Fox local WDBD-DT (Jackson, MS DMA) is airing it now BUT IT IS NOT IN HD. :(:(
I know this is probably a local problem, hope others do not get shafted by their local too.

Can someone tell me what is the big deal with having someone in the locals engineering department check to make sure they are outputting HD???........... I mean really, I know it was shceduled for Sat. night and then postponed and it's a weekend, blah blah blah........their digital channels are not that important to them blah blah blah......... but really is it that hard to have someone simply see that they should be sending out HD and it's not so fix it??

I was just about to post about this. I'm not getting HD either on WYZZ in Peoria. I tried calling my local station's newsroom, but just got voice mail. I thought Fox had a fancy system that automatically switched to HD.

It's in HD here on WFXL-DT (watching OTA), and looking wonderful as usual.

Was in HD here in Detroit but the local just switched to the stoopid Tigers game. Man this city is SUCH a Bandwagon town.

One of those times you wish stations would take advantage of the fact they have two transmitters. Since the game isn't in HD, they COULD just leave NASCAR up on WJBK-DT. Oh, well. Thank God for antenna rotors <sigh>.

Exactly. I on the off chance checked 2.2 but that would have made sense to use the multiple sub channels.

My thoughts exactly. I was disappointed today by the folks over at WJBK.

Well my Fox station did switch the HD on about 1 hour 26 minutes into the race.

the rest of the telecast went fine and looked great then.

The Hendrick teams are really strong. 4 COT races and 4 Hendricks winners and what 7 out of the 10 races so far.

keenan, thanks for that info.

I got a response from my local Fox and they blamed the Fox network for the delay to turn HD on an hour and a half into the program. Your info proves that as just an excuse from them.

Almost same thing happened on the Kentucky Derby thread. A avs member said his local NBC station has not shown the Derby in HD and that station claimed NBC national network was the problem.
