Connecting:
5.1 Theater: Samsung Ht-Q80
HD LCD TV: Sony KDL 46XBR2
DirecTV HD-DVR

All 3 units are new.

I posted in the Home Theater forum and they suggested looking here. I didn't see any similar posts with our issue. Is anyone familiar with the Samsung Home Theater Ht-Q80? If we take the theater out of the mix and just go straight from HD-DVR to TV we are fine. But going from DVR to theater to TV with HDMI then we get no audio or video from the satellite but it plays DVDs fine...? When we set the HT-Q80 to HDMI In as the instructions say, an error appears on the TV: Unsupported signal. Check your device output. Does anyone know what we are missing? I keep thinking it is has something to do with the input selected on each device. We are using HDMI In #7 on the BR2 and set the TV to input 7. The theater instuctions just say to push function button until you are on HDMI In and that is about all it says. I am not very impressed with the direction guide for this theater. :(

TV HDMI In to Out on Theater
Theater HDMI In to Out on DVR
DVR has 2 satellite coax cables coming in and an Ant in for OTA channels.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Figured it out. Would be nice if the DTV installer could have stuck around to at least set the DVR right. It was set to 480. I figured out I have to push the format button on my DVR remote until 1080 was lit up on the little lights on the top of the DVR . Then suddenly TV appeared while in HDMI In on the theater. Thanks for the suggestions and your time!
