I posted this previously in the RC board but have received no help so I thought that I would post it here.

When I press right, left, up or down on the round five way circular button it sometimes, but with increasing regularity, initiates a selection. Just as if I had pressed the center of the round button to make a selection.

The round button is free in its movement. I have taken the MX-700 apart and cleaned it - it was clean on the inside. There were no visible problems.

I have reprogrammed the button -- same results.

This behavior is exhibited on different components whenever the use of the round button is called for.

Has anyone experienced this behavior? Any ideas on how to correct the problem?

I just got the MX-700 back from URC last summer after they fixed a problem with the backlight.

It's normal. Every MX700 experiences this. It's just the layout of the button. Some people prefer the MX850 because it has a seperate select button, whereas the MX700 has a shared directional and select button. It just takes some practice to reduce the amounts of incidents that you accidentely press select. I still do it sometimes on mine, but not as frequently as when I first got it.
