They are the local HD channels, I don't think that Dish has a fiber to each one (or any). I'm sure they are being rate shaped, but the ones I receive are acceptable. Rick_R 05-07-07, 07:18 PM BTW the Echostar annual report says that Dish will offer HD local channels to over 50% of the country by the end of 2007. I do not know how many more cities that is but they seem to have something planned. Rick R pfan1981 12-14-07, 10:35 AM I was disappointed when I found out that I wouldn't get my locals in HD automatically. I want to watch the Packers in high def from my couch!!! Hopefully by the end of 07'............that's creeping up, haha. They better get on it!!! rdgrimes 12-14-07, 11:48 AM I was wondering if the local HD channels were off-air and what the stations were broadcasting or if they were rateshaped by E* In my area, they all come from a single digital feed that all sat and cable providers use. And it's not pretty. A few stations also refuse to put their HD feeds on the link unless ALL sat and cable providers agree to pay additional fees for HD. It's a pretty FUBAR situation. allargon 12-14-07, 11:50 AM They announced HD LiL's would be available to 80% of the country by the end of 2008 in this week's Charlie Chat. Personally, I hope they take their time with Austin. I get ALL (including PBS and the CW) of my non-downrezzed HD locals and the program guide via rabbit ears w/o having to pay $5 extra. Their hands are completely tied until they get some more birds in the sky. |
