Title basically says it all. I know that there are three different Oppo models and that I could choose the 970, which does not have the Faroujda chipset and wouldn't cause macroblocking. I have suffered through macroblocking for many years with different displays and players and have zero tolerance left for it. But, the other Oppos supposedly produce better pictures on some displays. So, with that in mind, which of the Oppos would produce the best picture with the hd1000u? Would the other two cause macroblocking? I did use the search function and found nothing that directly stated whether or not the Faroujda-based Oppos caused macroblocking with this display. Hoping for someone's advice that has had or seen this combo and can comment one way or the other.

The 970 is the only Oppo that cannot cause MB with your display. The only way to know for the 981 is to try it out (Oppo has a very good return policy).
