I have an OLD Sony KV-20V80 tv in my bedroom and the contrast ratio seems very good 50,000:1, 100,000:1, 1,000,000:1?. But there's a Sony KV-27V10 in my brother's room that has been used in "Torch Mode" for more than a decade.
Even when I properly calibrate this display, the whites still seem "washed out", and it doesn't have the deep rich contrast ratio like the old Trinitron in my bedroom that has spent the majority of its life calibrated.
