this poll is very subjective. a lot depends on the tv you are using. i have a samsung dlp and noticed a significant improvement in picture quality.

and yes, the elite does include the component cables as well as hdmi. component picture is identical with a core, pro, or elite console. i have a core and elite.

I would think that VGA would be better than HDMI for all Analog Monitors.
For Digital Displays HDMI may be better.

For gaming there is little or no difference to me, but the DVD playback is vastly improved on my Samsung 6187.

I got the elite and am using the provided hdmi cable. It looks great. The elite does come with component as well. I haven't tried it. Here is a photo of my three tv game room. Two elites and an old xbox.

i have a panasonic lcd projector - ae900u (i'll get some pics up tonight), and the HDMI is a bit better.

without calibrating my display, component is a bit oversaturated. i like hdmi's more realistic colors, but not the slight washout i got on vga.

That's likely and thanks to the fact that your XBOX 360 can now upconvert your DVD's for improved picture quality which was only possible over a VGA connection prior to the Elite.

I used both the component and the VGA before, it wasn't the resolution that was the problem, there was tons of static in all my favorite movies, it is all but gone now. Most likely due to the fact that there is no more digital>analog>digital conversion going on anymore.
