I realize that there may be alot of new owners of the Panasonic DMR-ES15 and -ES25 units, since the prices went down after they were discontinued and people realized they would not really benefit from the replacement models.

However, there seems to be more and more complaints here about all sorts of problems and glitches with these units!
I thought that they were more reliable than these (almost daily) complaints would indicate!
What's going on?...... Did we see the last of the decent Panny low end recorders with the DMR-ES10 or -ES20 (If I recall correctly, the -ES20 had it's share of issues too)?...... If so, it's quite possible that the newer (ATSC) models are also quickie ticking time bombs?

ATTN: OWNER'S OF THE ES-15 AND -ES-25's: WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCES?
DETAILS AND LENGTH OF USE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT! :)

I've had my ES-15 for almost a year with no problems. I always connect straight from the cable jack in the wall, as opposed to a set top box. STB's seem to be the culprit in many if not most of the postings I've read. I travel constantly and stay in a lot of hotel/motels, so I have had the opportunity to use my ES-15 with a number of cable companies.

Don't jinx me! I just got mine and connect from the wall to. So far it works, though I have only made a few recordings. I must say I had trouble with the RAM disc that came with it but the new RW have been ok. I find the unit extremely easy to use. I hope to start buring 25 or sos DVD (old home movies) soon s o we'll see how it goes.

I've had my ES-15 for several months with zero problems.

Have both the ES15 and ES25 for 7 months zero Problems!
Unlike my LiteOn LVW 5005s where drives died in about 90 days.

ES-15 required warantee service to replace the drive about 10 months into my ownership. Other than that, it's been working perfectly.

I've had my ES-15 since last september and have had no problems. I mainly use it with dvd-ram discs to catch stuff when I have to leave the house and I'm going to miss a few of my favorite shows.
