Hi:

I'm coming from a Sony 1292 CRT- so please do not turn this into a CRT -digital thread.

My question is what digital comes closest to a CRT in terms of luscious skin texture. The 1292 pic had skin that you could almost feel - the word that comes to mind is luscious. Whereas the digitals that I've seen to date do not match that.
So I'm looking to find out what's the lowest price digital that comes close to that look.

Note this is not a question of skin color/tone- there just seemed to be a certain real texture on the 1292 - that I'm looking to get close to on a digital - and find what's the lowest priced proj.'s to do that.

thanks,
Jon

Your question is so subjective I think it will be difficult to get a worthwhile answer. "Texture" is essentially detail, and in my mind any of the new 1080P projectors do an outstanding job with that, with LCOS and DLP having slightly different "looks". If you like the CRT look my *guess* is the JVC RS1 ($6200 Retail) would be your preference.

Sounds like you've been watching too much Playboy HD.

lol- I was worried about that connotation :-)
but it's not just detail, it's almost painted .

How does the Pearl compare in this regard?
