I've searched numerous sites trying to find this same problem, to no avail. After installing the update, I get a blue screen with "connecting" on it. Well, it never connects. I can't get to the dash board, with or without the Ethernet connection. I've tried resetting the modem, the router, zippo. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Wow, Microsoft built the BSOD into the 360? Awesome! ;)

I think you'll have to call Xbox Support on this one. Never heard of it before. Sorry to hear about that, though. Hope you get it resolved.

And post back what the resolution was....even if it involves getting a new one.

that sounds like the screen you get when you press the media center button on the remote. when i connect, i get a blue screen with the "connecting" message.

try hitting the "x" button when you have this screen.

Hitting the x button does nothing. It's locked into this screen, with no way out.

Did you choose the startup option for the 360 to Boot to the Media Center?

I didn't change a thing. It always went straight to the sign in on the dashboard. I'm fed up. A question: I disconnected the hard drive and the problem persists. If I buy a new one(this one's getting ready to be chucked over the balconey) and transfer my saved content, do I risk possibly corrupting the new ones hard drive? I was told that if I disconnect the hard drive and the problem is still there, then the hard drive is not the problem. Is this true? Thanks.

the dashboard and all updates are stored internally, and NOT on the hard drive. you can move the hard drive to any new system. i've unfortunately had to do this already twice now. your problem is not hard drive related, although, it is remotely possible that it was corrupted because of the problem you are now having. not likely though.

you could buy a new core and attach the hdd, but i would contact MS and insist on a repair/replacement because of their update.
