Pros:SDTV playback better that flatscreen TVs
Cons:not the best picture quality

Here's the story: I have DirecTV, and up until 2 weeks ago, I was watching it on an old tube television. The TV had to be replaced because of an electrical malfunction, but the picture quality was very nice. I went out and purchased a 32" LCD HDTV to replace it. As we all know, it's not worth it if you don't have HDTV. For various reasons, I don't want to upgrade to DirecTV's HDTV service yet. I just want a nice, clean picture. I was compelled to return the just-bought LCD, and purchased this TV, hoping that its SDTV picture quality would be better. It was, but not by much. I did notice a drastic difference when playing my DVDs from my progressive-scan player - the LCD TV still portrayed a blurry picture, but the samsung's picture quality is excellent. Another noted difference was with my Sony Playstation. Again, the picture quality was very poor on the LCD flatscreen, but much improved on the samsung. Neither are as good as my old tube TV though. This TV is good for people like me, who don't have a HD DVD player, HD game console, but have the option to upgrade in the future. I just wish the SDTV pictre quality was better.
