I have a 65 inch 1080p plasma.
I see the option for standard, intermediate and expanded in the reference levels section. Cant see a major difference. Any idea what that may be. I thought it was beneficial with VGA and not HDMI????
Thanks

I connect my Elite Via HDMI. I tried expanded, and it did saturate teh colors more and darken the screen........creating more contrast. But upon further inspection I lost detail..........the darkening of things crushed out some black details.
I will experiment more and see, but my feeling is that standard is probably the way to go with HDMI. Everything I have read has reffered to VGA improvements relating to how a TV set interprets the type of signal from the VGA port.

I stick to standard on my 720p Panasonic plasma, I tried expanded but it made everything look way too dark, but than again my TV was AVIA calibrated so results may vary.

it is supposed to correct for VGA/PC Monitors only. PC monitors were the real sufferers.
my projector was a little washed out, but calibrated properly over VGA, it is possible to correct much of this, however, i still prefer HDMI. it's a little sharper on my ae900u.
